Tilt: one swipe moves everything

The fifth MiniScape game is a sliding puzzle on a floating island. It is finished and can go live on Google Play any day, so this is what is in it.

Tilt is the next one. You swipe, and the whole island tips that way: every robot and every crate on it slides at once, all the way, until it hits a wall, a crate, a patch of sand or another robot. One swipe moves everything. The puzzle is the order you do it in.

Swipe right and everything goes right, all the way.

A pad does not brake

Each robot has a pad in its own colour, and a level is done when every one of them is standing on its own. The catch is that a pad stops nothing. To land a robot on it you need something to stop against — and very often that is another robot you parked there first. That one rule is most of the game.

There are thirty-two levels in four worlds — a garden, a mine, a coast and a ruin — and every one has been through a solver: it is proven solvable, and par is the fewest tilts it can be done in. Match it and you earn three flags.

A Tilt level in the mine: a dark island with two crates, a hole in the floor and two robots in a corner.
The mine. A crate is a stop you put down yourself — or a hole you fill.
A Tilt level on the coast: a pale island with a pink wedge in one corner and a robot standing on its pad.
The coast: one-way gates, and wedges that turn a slide through a right angle.

Hard, but not the punishing kind

Slide a robot into a hole and the island puts everything back the way it was, without costing a tilt. Undo goes as far back as you like. There are three hints per level, and a hint shows the next tilt of the shortest solution from where you are now, as an arrow at the edge of the island. You can play with your thumb, or switch the controls and tip the phone itself.

Where it is

It is finished, in English and Dutch, with a bonus level, endless generated levels and a daily puzzle after the campaign, and it can go live on Google Play any day now. The trailer is already on the MiniScape Games channel on YouTube. It will be free, like everything else here — no ads, nothing to buy, no account — and when it goes live there will be a post like the ones for Shift, LOOP, SWAP and Alone.
